Hardeman Awards Local Food Champion Certificate to Bre’s Fresh Market in Tillsonburg
TILLSONBURG – Today, Ernie Hardeman, MPP for Oxford, was at Bre’s Fresh Market in Tillsonburg to congratulate them on their commitment to growing and selling delicious, high quality local food by awarding them with a Local Food Champion certificate.
“It was my pleasure to award a Local Food Champion certificate to Bre’s Fresh Market, who continue to grow, sell and promote the great local food that’s available throughout Oxford,” said MPP Hardeman. “The Local Food Champion program is a celebration of our hardworking entrepreneurs, farmers and food processors who are committed to ensuring more local food is available for everyone in their community.”
Bre’s Fresh Market prides itself on being a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the best local foods from Oxford, Elgin, and Norfolk county, including locally grown produce, bakery treats, meats and cheeses, available all under one roof. Bre’s was also featured in the 2019 Local Food Report, released on June 5.
“We are in such a rich agricultural community yet feeding your family local farm fresh produce is a challenge. We do what we do to make fresh local produce from our farm and neighbouring farms as readily available to our customers as possible,” said Breann and Kyle Gillespie, Bre’s Fresh Market’s owners.
Bre’s Fresh Market also sells sweetcorn, green and yellow beans, as well as pumpkins and squash, which are grown on the Gillespie’s farm and picked fresh each morning.
“When we buy local food, we are making a choice to support our communities like Oxford, our province, and our economy,” said MPP Hardeman. “I encourage everyone to pay Bre’s Fresh Market a visit on your next grocery shopping trip.”
