Part of over $1.1 billion investment to support operational improvements and ensure Ontarians can continue to access high-quality hospital care in their community
WOODSTOCK — The Ontario government is investing $7.3 million to support improved operations and reduced wait times at hospitals in Oxford. This funding is part of a $1.1 billion investment into our hospital sector as part of Budget 2026, A Plan to Protect Ontario, which represents a 4 per cent increase in annual support for the fourth year in a row.
“Strong local hospitals are essential to keeping our communities healthy, and this increased investment will help ensure patients in Oxford continue to receive the high-quality care they deserve, closer to home, said Ernie Hardeman, MPP for Oxford. “Our government is making historic investments in health care, and this funding will help our local hospitals meet growing demand, support their dedicated staff, and continue delivering the services families rely on every day.”
This investment will support the operation of core clinical services at Woodstock Hospital ($5,525,000) and Rural Roads Health Services hospitals ($1,775,200) in both Ingersoll and Tillsonburg so they can better meet patient needs.
“We are grateful for this funding announcement and the province’s continued investment in health care,” said Perry Lang, President and CEO of Woodstock Hospital. “This funding will help Woodstock Hospital continue providing high-quality, people-centred care close to home for Oxford County residents.”
“Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll (AHI) and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital (TDMH), the two sites of Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS), were pleased to receive a 3% increase in base funding for fiscal year 2026-2027 from the Ministry of Health,” said Nadia Facca, President and CEO. “This increase will help each site address inflationary cost pressures and other wage expenses to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care for Oxford County residents.”
Ontario is making historic investments to protect Ontario’s health-care system, ensuring that more people can connect to the care they need, where and when they need it.
“This investment will allow Woodstock Hospital and Rural Roads Health Services to continue delivering the highest standard of care while reducing wait lists and wait times for patients and families, for generations to come,” said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health
Ontario continues to make historic investments in health care. Over the next 10 years, Ontario is investing approximately $64 billion in major health infrastructure. This is part of the government’s plan to get shovels in the ground on more than 50 major hospital projects across the province, which will deliver approximately 3,000 new hospital beds to enhance access to quality care and build a connected, people-first health-care system.
Through Your Health: A Plan For Connected and Convenient Care, the Ontario government is expanding access to key services to provide people with the right care, in the right place, close to come.
