SHARE YOUR HYDRO STORIES
WOODSTOCK – Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman is asking people and businesses in Oxford to send him copies of their hydro bills or stories about how the hydro increases have impacted them.
“I continue to raise the issue of spiraling hydro costs in the Ontario Legislature,” said Hardeman. “To help me illustrate the impact I am asking people to share with me how much their hydro bills have increased and the impact that it has had on them and their families.”
Hardeman pointed to a story he heard this week of a local business whose hydro bills have doubled to over $20,000 a month.
“If the Premier believes that an 8% rebate is going to solve the problem it is clear that she doesn’t understand the impact the hydro increases have had on our community,” said Hardeman. “I want to share real stories to make this government comprehend the hardship their decisions have caused.”
The hydro stories can be sent to ernie.hardeman@pc.ola.org or by fax to 519-537-3577. If people or businesses are sending copies of their hydro bills they can black out the name and/or address for privacy.
“We know that people in Oxford and across Ontario are facing real hardship due to the high cost of hydro,” said Hardeman. “I hope that telling those stories in the Legislature will help persuade the government to take steps to stop the increases.”
